【Corporate Interview】 The New Era of Green Energy Driving the Energy Transition

2024. Dec. 250King One Design

Green energy, as a crucial engine for driving future development, is reshaping the global energy landscape with remarkable momentum. Technologies such as solar and wind power not only offer clean and efficient energy solutions but also pave the way for a sustainable future. FWP Power, with innovation at its core, integrates green energy concepts to position itself as a key enabler in the energy transition process.

King One Design recently interviewed Yang Yun-Ren, the Chief Sustainability Officer of FWP Power, who shared insights into green energy strategies and brand marketing, as well as reflections on collaborating with King One Design for exhibition booth planning.

【Company Profile】

Company: FWP Power

Interviewee: Yang Yun-Ren, Chief Sustainability Officer

Overview:

FWP Power specializes in the green energy sector, advancing renewable energy development through professional expertise. The company is committed to delivering high-efficiency, stable energy solutions while ensuring robust information security services. FWP aims to be the most trusted partner for its clients, fostering smarter and more eco-friendly lifestyles and creating a healthier, better planet for future generations.

"Energy transition is not just a trend; it is a corporate responsibility."

As international carbon reduction goals advance, the shift from traditional energy to renewable energy is no longer optional but a mandatory course of action. By embracing sustainable development, businesses not only enhance their competitiveness but also contribute significantly to the improvement of the global environment.

Aligned with global trends, the green energy sector emerges as a blue ocean opportunity.

Q:In recent years, renewable energy has been a topic of global interest. Could you share your thoughts on the current state of the green energy industry?

A:Sustainability and carbon reduction goals have become global trends, and "reducing carbon emissions" is now a key focus for many companies. Large corporations like Apple, Google, and Amazon are increasingly requiring their suppliers to engage in carbon reduction efforts to address greenhouse gas inventories.

Traditional power generation still presents carbon emission challenges. To put it simply, "using green energy means lower carbon emissions." Renewable energy sources, such as solar and wind power, generate electricity without additional emissions during production. Therefore, opting for green energy is inherently a lower-carbon—or even zero-carbon—choice.

From reducing energy costs to stabilizing energy supply, FWP Power ensures that every aspect of its operations delivers genuine value. By not only meeting corporate needs but also setting new benchmarks for the application of sustainable energy, the company paves the way for a greener future.

From green energy to energy storage, providing comprehensive energy solutions.

Q:Could you briefly introduce FWP Power's growth journey and the services offer?

A:I come from an electrical engineering background, so I'm quite technical. When I graduated, Taiwan's energy policies and regulations were just beginning to take shape. Industries like renewable energy, clean energy, and smart grids were starting to develop, creating many job opportunities. Our parent company, Senway Energy, recognized the potential of the "electricity sales industry" and quickly adapted to regulatory changes.

Thus, FWP Power was born in June 2019. At the beginning, we were just three people: the CEO, myself, and an assistant. During this time, we continuously explored, researched, and innovated. By studying relevant regulations and leveraging our electrical engineering background, we turned this knowledge into computational code, which we then transformed into a profitable business model.

Now, after more than five years, we are fortunate to have ridden the wave of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance). We've grown significantly from a newly established company to one that's preparing for an IPO. It’s been a challenging but rewarding journey.

FWP Power - Yang Yun-Ren, Chief Sustainability Officer

We offer four main services: 「Green Energy, Energy Saving, Energy Storage, and Information」. Although these may seem like four separate areas, they are actually integrated.

At the beginning, we conduct an energy audit for businesses, starting with energy savings. We look for areas where energy costs can be reduced, such as minimizing unnecessary electricity use or replacing outdated equipment like lights and air conditioning. As the saying goes, "what you save is what you earn." This approach gradually reduces both energy costs and carbon emissions, which can be seen as a form of energy conservation.

The next step is to "source green energy" by replacing traditional electricity with renewable energy, which helps to reduce emissions. Since renewable energy is less stable, energy storage acts as a buffer to stabilize the power grid. We can design energy storage systems to make the electricity system more secure and reliable for both Taiwan Power Company and its customers.

Finally, our information services. Through our self-developed information platform, we integrate the data from our three core services—green energy, energy saving, and energy storage—deepening communication and connection with clients. We ensure the real-time, security, and accuracy of the data, which helps to implement effective energy management.

FWP Power is a shining leader in the green energy sector, with an exhibition booth that exudes a futuristic, tech-driven vibe, enhancing its brand recognition.

Showcasing the company's image at the grand event, the exhibition marketing serves as a testament to the brand's growth and evolution.

Q: What concept do you aim to convey to the audience through your exhibition booth?

A: The International Smart Week is one of the biggest events in the energy industry, and our exhibition serves more as a representation of our image. We want to show the audience that FWP Power is continuously growing. As a subsidiary of Senway Energy, we’ve come a long way—from a small booth in the beginning to our third year of participation with a large, eight-grid booth. This evolution proves that we now have the strength to face industry competition, and it symbolizes FWP Power’s journey of self-actualization.

By utilizing King One Design's light sculpture projection wall and naked-eye 3D technology, the booth perfectly illustrates the intangible value of green energy. This not only bridges the gap between customers and services but also enhances the brand's recognition within the exhibition space.

With the support of digital technology, abstract concepts of green energy become tangible and accessible.

Q:Was there any part of the exhibition booth or design that left a lasting impression on you? What kind of future collaboration do you hope to have with King One Design?

A:What impressed me the most was the light sculpture projection wall and naked-eye 3D technology. As an energy service company, green energy is invisible and intangible—it’s an abstract concept. So how do we present it to our customers? I think the light sculpture projection wall, compared to traditional projections, is a very useful interactive tool. It allows customers to experience something they may not have understood before in a short amount of time, providing a more immersive experience. The naked-eye 3D technology also allows us to be seen from a distance, and we’ve seen many industry peers come over to take photos, which has generated great publicity.

The naked-eye 3D technology captures attention at the exhibition, achieving great results in external brand promotion.
